Spring Days at Maison Desrochers

Easter was fun, lots of candy for all. Seth is home from school all week on spring break. We are spending lots of time outside because of the lovely sunny spring weather. Seth had just mastered riding a bike without training wheels in October, so he is sharpening his skills a bit riding around the driveway. We cleaned out some of the garage yesterday and finally (this is two years of searching, since we moved into the house!) found the charger to the Power Wheel VW Bug. So today Gabe learned to “drive”. It is funny how different Seth and Gabe’s personalities are. When Seth learned to drive he drove slowly and precisely, even parking the car straight in the driveway. He took it all very seriously. Gabe, on the other hand, as with all things drives with reckless abandon. Into the garage door, into the flowers, into the stone wall–all at top speed (like 2 miles an hour). We began prep work for the massive spring project, the kids swing set playhouse thing. The first bunch of lumber was purchased and put in the garage. For those of you who don’t know, these things cost like 500 duckets even if you build it yourself. Insanity I tell you. Not really looking forward to the circus that will ensue when the men in my family gather to construct this beast. It shall be chaos, sheer madness. Well, while at Home Depot I did this domestic thing and bought a bag of bulbs to plant, so Seth and I spent the afternoon digging holes and playing in the dirt. That’s all the news that’s fit to print…
