The best Mother’s Day present yet…

So my newly three month old gave me the most wonderful Mother’s Day present. At six in the morning I startled awake, sat up in bed and realized Nathan had just slept through the night for the first time. And he has done so now for three consecutive nights. I can’t tell you how wonderful a feeling it is to get more than three hours sleep at a time when you haven’t for so long. Thank you Nate the Great!
It was a memorable Mother’s Day all around. Seth had a play they did at school where he sang to me and told a joke. He did wonderfully and absolutely made my day. He also made me a planter at Home Depot with my Dad that he was so excited to give me he woke me up with it on Thursday morning, a whole three days early.
Gabriel suprised me with his first attempt at signing a card, a mess of scribbles that I will of course keep forever and John got me calla lillies and a trellis for my garden. My mom gave me a card that made me cry, she is good at picking the perfect mushy cards. And finally my Dad gave me a dozen red carnations, a tradition he started when Seth was born in honor of his mom and a great story he has about bringing her red carnations in a wagon that the greenhouse was getting rid of.
So all and all I was very loved and very appreciated by my family, even the tiniest member.
