Role Reversal

My thought for today, briefly before I must depart, is what if? I am about to leave the house for my sons birthday party. We are taking four eight and nine year olds, plus the rest of our crew, to the area speedway for an evening of car racing. And so the tally is eight males and me.

I am left to wonder if things were reversed and we had an all female household. What if our nine year old decided to have a spa day with mani & pedi’s? I am very sceptical that my husband would endure hours upon hours of giggling girls at a spa. So why is it that I am expected to power through an entire evening of rough and tough boys watching the who’s car is better than who’s as they literally go around in circles all night?

I’m off to the races…

  1. Wow.. that’s a point alright. I do have to say that I think my husband would do *anything* for his daughter, including letting her style his hair and put make-up on him, it’s just the type of guy he is. However, men in general like to weasel out of things. I say this as I’m overwhelmed and over exhausted right now, my husband is currently oblivious to the world around him, and my son is avoiding his chores with all he can.

Happy Birthday to Seth (or at least happy party!!)

  2. Stopping by from MBC Under 100 to say Hello!
