Potty Training Boy #4

We have started potty training Eli.  Truth be told, potty training is one of my least favorite parenting duties.  Ranks right up there with holding down a  child for stitches.  Except potty training is a long drawn out process.  Stitches are done in a few minutes.

Anyway, we have embarked on the potty training process.  In the last week Eli has learned the difference between wet and dry.  He has learned how to control his bodily functions.  We are getting there.  But there is still a long way to go.

What I keep saying to myself is that this is the last one.  The last time I have to do this.  And there is a fabulous reward waiting for me on the other side.  A diaper free existence.  After over a decade.  So I am gritting my teeth and powering through.  Hoping that the excitement of being like the throng of older brothers will motivate him just a little more.

  1. I just keep thinking how no matter what, at this time next year, I am going to count it ALL JOY when I am potty training my last one. Diaper free sounds so delicious. Six straight years here and counting.
