Our First Vegetable Garden

We spent some of Memorial Day weekend working on our very first vegetable garden.  We broke ground.  Turned sod.  Sorted out rocks.  Added fertilizer and garden soil.  And we planted.

A mixture of seeds and plants from the garden center went into the ground.  We are looking forward to watching our garden grow with things like strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and onions.

Do you know who is checking the plants every morning?  Not Daddy D or I, but little guys on their way to the bus or to the swing set.  So far so good!

Will everything be successful in our garden?  Probably not.  But we are excited to see what happens.  It is a learning experience for all of us, and I’ll be sure to share our progress!

  1. Good for you!
Yes having a garden is work – also very rewarding.
I garden also and can't wait for some fresh organic veggies.
May we have a great growing season.

  2. Fun! We did strawberries and tomatoes. The tomatoes have been doing great, but some critter decided they liked our strawberries so we haven't been able to eat many of them!
