What Do You Use Smarties For? #IamASmartie

You know by now that we love Smarties here at the D household.  Ever since I visited the Smarties factory in New Jersey last month the boyz have been enjoying a daily “lolli time”.  We have a Smarties Lollipop mid afternoon.  It is a fun sweet treat and a time we chat and catch up after they get home from school.

There are so many great uses for Smarties, things like teachers using them as a reward for students who do well. Many call them “Smarties for Smarties”.  And at only 25 calories for a traditional Smarties roll, it is a great little incentive.  They are also a great tool to help teach simple math or to create graphs and statistics.  How many whites came in your roll?  What is the most frequent color?
I have also heard of marathoners and long distance runners using them for a quick pick me up during those grueling long runs.  They are so small to carry on your person while trying to be efficient running.  Great idea!
I’ve even heard of people who are hypoglycemic who use it to help with low blood sugar.
In our house Eli is starting to “get” potty-training.  Smarties are a great tool to encourage a successful trip to the bathroom.  Again, just 25 calories of sweet reward!
This month I can’t wait to share with you some wonderful and creative uses for Smarties.  Things like Smarties inspired crafts and baked goods.  I am getting excited to show you some great new ways to use Smarties!
Do you have a unique use for Smarties?

  1. Hey lady you need to update your children's photos on the side bar! 😉
Love you and miss you, and for the record, smarties give me a headache…but i think it's because i usually eat five rolls at a time!
