Doing DIY Non-Stop

Things here have been busy on the home front.  Slowly but surely we have been working on little projects.  Well, mostly John does small projects while sitting and trying to get his ankle to heal (still!) and I have to do the big stuff.  But I am okay with that.

The laundry room is coming along.  This past week I got from here…

And if you follow me on Instagram (if not, go for it now here)  you have already seen where the wall on the left is headed!

Always the attention deficit DIYer, I am also working away on a gallery wall/corner in my living room at the same time.  Little by little.

Loving the Pinterest tips like making cut outs of the frames out of dollar store wrapping paper.  I also mark the hangers so when I decide on placement, I just knock a few nails right where it is marked on the paper and it comes out perfectly where I want it!

Finally, I have been working bit by bit on spiffing up this dresser I found on a local swap site for $75.  It is in our foyer and will house board games and such in a central location for everyone to use.  Also, the bottom drawer will have our pet supplies, as this is the room where our animals eat.

I am going to try a new type of paint for the first time on this piece, and I can’t wait to get to work on it!  But first it needs some shoring up of the base of the center drawer.  And a bit of work on feet.

So that’s what I’ve been working on as the last bit of winter weather has held on.  What about you?

  1. That dresser is great, check out the vintage vanity I just did. My first big project like this and I am hooked! I can’t believe I did it and how much I love it! http://www.mommyramblings.org/2013/04/26/painting-vintage-and-antique-furniture-101/
