Treehouse DIY part 2
Last week I introduced you to our treehouse project. I left you with the base for the deck done and told you that we had finished putting the decking on.
The walls of the treehouse were constructed before we even started putting the braces in the tree. These were all fabricated entirely on the ground by Daddy D and I. But with his bum ankle and the fact that I just barely managed to heft the sheets of plywood for the decking up on my own, we called in reinforcements.
Last weekend my stepdad and brother came by to help get the walls up into the tree.
They lifted each wall up to the decking where Daddy D and I positioned them and screwed them in. I would really like a few days break from the monsoon weather so just maybe there was a pic of me not in muck boots…
My stepdad was a huge help getting everything into place and square.
And we eventually ended up with a whole cluster of onlookers. That’s my brother and his fiancé, my niece, Gabe and my mom.
The best part about the day? In less than an hour all of the walls were up in the tree and screwed down. It is really starting to look like a treehouse!
Albeit one with no roof.
I love how every wall has a window, so they have prime views from all sides.
I gotta say, it is just soooo cool.
After our afternoon of work, this is where we are at. The shell of the treehouse is up!
But, if you follow my on Instagram you’ve seen that it hasn’t stayed like this for long!
