Chloe & Halle, Radio Disney and Macy’s Reading Circle for Back To School

This is a sponsored post.  Compensation was received from the Everywhere Society  for coverage of this special event.  As always, all opinions and experiences expressed are my own.

DSCN9229I love how Macy’s has lots of great family friendly events at stores.  I got to check out a special day of events at the Macy’s in Herald Square, New York.  It was a lineup of two separate events in the children’s departments.

First up was Macy’s Reading Circle with a live reading of Tidy Mice written by Gioia Francella.

Author Gioia Francella was on hand to talk about her inspiration, her son and the book.  We were treated to a reading where Gioia, whose first language is Italian, led the children in hand motions.  The kids were so engaged and had a great time.

2013-09-211After the reading there were snacks, a Tidy Mice craft and Gioia signed copies of her book with qualifying purchase.

2013-09-21Next up we headed over to the teen department to check out the Radio Disney event.  The crowd was excited to see Chloe and Halle Bailey, season 5 winners of Disney’s Next Big Thing, in person.  The Radio Disney Road Crew did a great job of revving the crowd up with trivia and prizes.

2013-09-212Chloe and Halle arrived and answered questions, talked about their experiences and music, and even sang an accapella version of Lady Gaga’s “Applause”.

Then fans had an opportunity to meet the sisters, get autographs and pose for pictures.

2013-09-213I was so impressed with the poise and grace of these young ladies.  They seemed genuinely lovely and I hope the truly are the Next Big Thing!

It was a great afternoon of fun events for kids and families at the Macy’s Herald Square to celebrate back to school!  Check your local Macy’s for special events in your area!
