What Does The Fox Say?, McCall’s M6828 Pattern, MommaDandDaBoyz.netMy boyz are absolutely obsessed with the What Does The Fox Say? video.  So when I found the new McCall’s 6828 Pattern we knew exactly what they would be for Halloween this year!

And for once, these Northeastern boyz were warm for Halloween!  The pattern makes a double thickness fleece coat, so it is pretty toasty.

They loved wiggling those little fox tails!  I love that they are still wearing their coats to and from school almost two weeks later.

Here they are in their respective Halloween parades at school.

This was a fairly easy and straight forward pattern to follow.  Be forewarned that the size of the buttons were too big for my pre-set stiches on my sewing machine.  Also, I am not a huge fan of sewing applique, and this pattern is HEAVY on the applique.  All of the facial features, ears and tails involve multiple layers of applique.

All in all, it makes for a fun lightweight coat.  The same pattern also features cat and raccoon options.  It comes is sizes 2-8 and can be purchased here.

Here they are sporting their gear for trick or treating.

Finally, no one under 13 can hear that song and not wiggle.  So here are the shots of Gabe dancing away while I was trying to take photos today.

  3. Hi Mama D,
I’m making this same coat for my granddaughter and have a question. When you sewed the ears on did you stitch from the back or did you make a slit and sew 1/4 inch from the wrong side. Its hard to tell by the instructions. Thanks C
