I am part of the #WiltonTreatTeam, and as such I receive both product and compensation in return for these posts. As always, all experiences and opinions expressed are my own.
In my second shipment of products I received from Wilton, I was excited to find a huge variety of Wilton PEEPS products that came out this spring!
I decided to try my hand a cake pops. I have never done them, can you believe it? I turned to the Wilton Pops section online. I learned everything from how to construct them to what recipe adjustments to make! After baking a 9 x 13 cake and then crumbled half, adding ready made frosting to the mix.
Next, I packed the cake pop mix into the Wilton Pink/Purple lollipop sticks.
The standard cake pop recipe from the Wilton site made eleven of the PEEPS cake pops.Again, following the Wilton Pops instructions, I let the mold chill for two hours. Then I took them out of the mold. They hold their shape pretty well, but the beaks of the chicks were a little difficult.
Next, using some melted candy melts, I dipped the Wilton Pink/Purple lollipop sticks and then placed into the cake pops. I placed them back in the refrigerator to chill for another two hours.
I was excited to try the new Limited Edition Marshmallow Candy Melts® Candy. Using a double boiler I melted the candy and dipped/spooned it over the cake pops.
Here is the coated pop ready for embellishment!
I used the Wilton sprinkles in the Sparkling Sugars line, sticking to some of the traditional PEEPS colors.
Using a bit of chocolate ready made frosting, I added the simple PEEPS features.
Here they are! My Wilton PEEPS Cake Pops!
They were a big hit with my boyz, especially because of the jumbo size!
